KELTY Hearts paid tribute to former treasurer Alex Syme with a minute's silence before their game with Stirling Albion on Saturday.
Alex passed away on October 15 at the age of 72.
Kelty-born and bred, Alex attended Kelty Primary School before moving on to Beath High. He then took on an apprenticeship as an electrical fitter at Rosyth Dockyard.
His career took him and his family to Canada in 1990 where he worked at the Saint John Shipyard in New Brunswick before he returned to Kelty in 1996.
Alex married wife Angela in 1977 and they went onto have four children, Michelle, Colin, Craig and Louise. Sadly, Craig died in January 1981.
The couple also have five grandchildren.
Although starting out as a Dunfermline Athletic fan, Alex developed a love for Kelty Hearts and served as a treasurer for the club for a spell during its amateur days.
A keen golfer, Alex also enjoyed long walks, reading, and taking drives all over Scotland, He had a love for football, playing pool, and dart and embraced the camaraderie of sports, making friends wherever he went.
He was an avid traveller and enjoyed holidays throughout Spain, and was a frequent visitor to the Canary Islands with his wife Angela.
Son Colin said: "He was just a normal guy, a good guy. He was just a gentleman."
A funeral service for Alex took place at Dunfermline Crematorium last Thursday.
