A children's charity is calling on the public to hand in their good quality donations this winter to raise vital funds for vulnerable children.

Barnardo's Scotland is in particular need of good quality womenswear and menswear. The charity has over 60 shops in Scotland; including ones in Dunfermline, Rosyth, and Dalgety Bay.

Donations can be handed in to any Barnardo's shop.

Martin Crewe, director of Barnardo’s Scotland, said: “With Christmas not too far away, we suspect a lot of households in Scotland will be wanting to do something of a pre-festive clear-out, and that’s where Barnardo’s comes in! We would love to receive your pre-loved goods, especially all types of clothing.

“You can bring your items along to any of our stores, and our team will be more than grateful to take them off your hands. Every donation made to our stores will help raise much needed funds to support our vital services across Scotland this winter.”

The charity works with children, young people and their parents and carers to make sure that every child has the best start in life.

Martin added: “Your donation to your local Barnardo’s store will mean more than ever. Every day, the cost-of-living crisis is getting worse and it’s pushing more and more children and their families into frightening levels of poverty.

"This winter, frontline staff at Barnardo’s will be helping struggling children and families across Scotland by providing them with emergency support such as beds, access to food, and support with their mental wellbeing.”
