A drunk Dunfermline man caused a disturbance in Oakley when holding a Buckfast bottle, threatening to hit a policeman over the head with it.

Dean Frame, 27, of Bleachfield Court, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on May 17 at Station Road, Oakley, he acted aggressively, shouted, swore, made a threat of violence whilst in possession of a glass bottle and repeatedly punched the cage within a police vehicle.

Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said there had been a missing person report made about Frame.

At 2.45am a police officer found him in a street in Oakley in an intoxicated state and holding a Buckfast bottle.

He said to the policeman: “I’ll put this bottle over your head.”

Other officers arrived and he was driven home but refused to get out of the police van.

Defence solicitor Alan Davie said: “He has a history of mental health issues. On this day he had been to a funeral and was drinking afterwards. It was irrational behaviour and he apologises for it.”

Sheriff Garry Sutherland imposed a two-month restriction of liberty order.
