A Dunfermline man drove off after knocking down traffic lights in the city centre.
Oliver Gannon, 44, of Kent Street, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on May 7 at Winterthur Lane, he drove a car dangerously and collided with a set of traffic lights, damaging them and attempted to drive over the damaged lights.
At Kent Street, he resisted four police officers, struggled violently, refused to comply with verbal instructions, aggressively moved his head towards them, grabbed hold of them and kicked out at them.
Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said that at 10.15pm two witnesses saw Gannon’s car hit the traffic lights which collapsed on impact. He then tried to drive over the debris of the lights and headed off in the direction of Carnegie Drive.
The incident and car registration were reported to the police and at 10.32pm officers arrived outside Gannon’s home where they saw his damaged car parked.
When Gannon saw the officers, he immediately became hostile and began to struggle violently with them.
Sheriff Garry Sutherland imposed a structure deferred sentence until February 7 when Gannon will return to court. A temporary driving ban was also put in place until then.
