Members of a Dunfermline-based dance school have enjoyed impressive successes at the Irish Dancing World Championships.
Local dancers Sarah Brown, Tia O'Hanlon and Diane Penman, from Na Laochra Irish Dance, took to the World championship stage in Folkestone in Kent and secured some outstanding results in the most prestigious competition in the competitive Irish dance calendar.
The trio have been preparing for the championships over the last 12 months, with support from their dance teacher Lisa Claire Finnon TCRG, and they were all placed within the top six of their respective categories.
Speaking about their results, Lisa said: "I am so proud of every one of our dancers. The majority of our competitions happen in the South of England, so they don't get as much stage experience as others, but they make up for it with their effort and determination.
"The results speak for themselves really. Diane scored her highest Worlds placement this year, so we're delighted with that, and Tia gave a strong performance while working two jobs and studying at the same time.
"Our biggest achievement this year was with our senior dancer Sarah, who placed third overall, taking two first places in the process. She's just proved to everyone that age does not have to be a barrier to success. While many dancers stop competing in their 20s, Sarah is now in her 30s and still has a lot of fight left in her!
"We're all very excited for what the future has in store for our wee school."
Na Laochra Irish Dance is currently registering beginner and experienced dancers of all ages for their new classes held at The Dance Studio in Dunfermline.
