On Friday, November 17, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team carried out a small, planned explosion in Dunfermline.
Police Scotland Fife posted an update on Friday evening to say that a planned explosion had been carried out that day at approximately 3.10pm on Elgin Street. The planned explosion was to safely dispose of hazardous materials.
As previously reported in the Press, a bomb disposal unit attended the 154 Scottish Regiment building on Elgin Street just after 3pm on Thursday, November 16, and the road was closed off for safety reasons.
One member of staff at neighbouring business MKM Building Supplies, told the Press that they believed the incident to be the discovery of “white phosphate bombs”.
Police Scotland Fife confirmed on their update on Friday evening that the incident had now been stood down.
