WORK has been completed to turn three apartments at the Linen Quarter in Dunfermline into short term holiday lets.

Stuart Morris, of Stay Dunfermline, got the green light from Fife Council in April for a change of use for a trio of flats at the Pilmuir Works development.

He has now submitted a 'completion notice' to the local authority.

Mr Morris aims to let three properties for a minimum of three and maximum of 28 nights.

Explaining the proposals earlier this year, a planning statement on his behalf said: "There is a lack of short-term holiday let and hotel accommodation in Dunfermline, reducing its attractiveness as a short stay tourist destination.

"Building on its recently granted city status and proximity to other tourist attractions in Fife, the Lothians and Perthshire, the proposals will provide much sought after accommodation for tourists and individuals wishing to visit the area."

The Linen Quarter development has seen Byzantian Developments Ltd turn an abandoned and derelict factory site into 157 swish new apartments and retail space.

Stay Dunfermline offers "luxury, self-catering serviced apartments in the city centre to visiting business and leisure travellers" and their three apartments are at the Foundry Street / Cousin's Lane side of the development.
