NINE-YEAR-OLD Hannah Downie has raised over £370 for Cash4Kids thanks to her efforts in Sunday's Santa Dash.
She was just one of many to raise funds for charity at the event in Dunfermline, which took place ahead of the switch on of the Christmas lights.
Hannah, daughter of West Fife and Coastal Villages councillor Graeme Downie, decided to run for the charity to help kids less fortunate than her, so they could wake up to a present on Christmas day.
Hannah said: “We all love Christmas, there’s family, food and presents. Some children don’t get those things because their families can’t afford it. This is why I completed the 5k Santa Dash for Cash4Kids Mission Christmas, which helps Santa get every child a present on Christmas day.”
Hannah completed the dash alongside her dad Graeme, who said: “I think our legs are still suffering a bit! She’s doing her charity badge at Brownies, so she chose the Santa dash as a way of doing that. She got sponsors from people all round our estate.
“She did brilliantly at the 5k. I think she was pulling me around for most of it! We did it in just under 40 minutes according to my wife which I thought was quite good. I couldn’t be more proud of her."
The Dash is organised by the Rotary Club of Dunfermline and allows for people to raise money for a charity of their choice.
