Co-op stores in Dalgety Bay, Inverkeithing and Rosyth have raised over £4000 for three charitable causes.
Each year the company celebrate the fundraising efforts of their members by selecting the chosen causes to receive their fundraising money. The Co-op stores and Funeral Care Teams select the causes from a list sent to them from Head Office.
Each 'Member Pioneer' area had three causes last year. The three causes chosen in the Dalgety Bay, Inverkeithing and Rosyth area were Inverkeithing Breakfast Club, a Rosyth Brownies and South Queensferry RNLI. Over £4000 was raised in total.
RNLI South Queensferry received £1,888.25. This covers the cost of kitting out a new crew member so they are safe when carrying out rescues.
Rosyth Brownies received £1,027.16, which means they can open Brownies up to more girls who may not have been able to afford to attend previously. The money will be used to buy them badge books and other items needed.
Inverkeithing Breakfast Club received £1,121.03, with the money being used to supply free breakfasts to anyone in the area who needs it every second Saturday of the month. The breakfast club is run from the café area in Inverkeithing Baptist Church.
For the next year, the Co-op have two causes that members can select to raise funds for: Inverkeithing Breakfast Club and Rosyth Military Wives Choir.
