VOLUNTEERS from Dunfermline's Amazon fulfilment centre have been busy organising, sorting and setting up a space management system for the Scot Baby Box Appeal.

The initiative sends out support in the form of pre-loved baby boxes, humanitarian aid and other essential items to those in need in Ukraine.

Twelve workers from the fulfilment centre spent the day with the charity ahead of a shipment being sent out to orphanages in the war-torn country.

Jamie Strain, general manager at Amazon in Dunfermline, said: “Scot Baby Box Appeal is an important charity that extends beyond Scotland to support families in need in Ukraine.

Dunfermline Press:

"I’m so glad some members of our team were able to volunteer with the team at the charity’s storage facility, using their operational expertise to help organise the space effectively.”

Christina Watson, one of the workers who volunteered, added: “I really enjoyed volunteering with my colleagues alongside some of the Scot Baby Box Appeal team.

"We had a fantastic day organising the charity’s storage facility and creating a space management system to help them improve their logistics network. We enjoyed it so much that one of my colleagues and I returned to volunteer a few weeks later."

Gail Maguire, from Scot Baby Box Appeal, said the support was greatly appreciated.

“We would like to thank the Amazon employees who took some time out to volunteer with us," she said.

"I hope they enjoyed learning more about the work we do in Scotland and beyond."
