The chairperson of the Children’s Clothing Bank in Dunfermline gave a talk to the Dunfermline Soroptimists.

Judy Corbett spoke to the group about the charity, which started three years ago when she realised that there was a great need for children's clothing.

The charity now has 27 volunteers who gather and sort mainly second-hand clothing. The clothing bank has helped 900 families in Dunfermline, Oakley, Saline, and Lochgelly.

Children are referred by health visitors or social workers. The clothing bank just needs to know a child’s age, gender, and what clothing they require.

The parcels are then made up and collected by the health visitor or social worker, who will deliver the parcels to the homes of the children.

Judy said: “We have one treat for the teenagers, a voucher where they can buy an item of clothing that they fancy”.

The Children’s Clothing Bank Dunfermline is located on 21 Chalmers Street and is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
