A High Valleyfield man vandalised a house in the village by smashing a bedroom window.

Michael Stocks had become “irate” after being refused entry to a neighbouring property.

Stocks, 42, of Pentland Terrace, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on December 2 at Preston Crescent, High Valleyfield, he smashed the outer pane of double-glazed bedroom window.

Depute fiscal Laura McManus said Stocks had turned up asking whether someone was there and he was told they were not.

Stocks did not believe this and became irate after being told to go away.

He then walked to outside a neighbouring property and smashed a window there causing £250 worth of damage.

The court was told there was a background of drugs misuse and Stocks was under the influence of substances at the time.

Defence solicitor Alan Davie said: “He can’t remember what happened. He apologises for the convenience caused."

Sheriff Francis Gill imposed a restriction of liberty order lasting 11 weeks.
