FIFE's First Afro-Caribbean grocery shop will open its doors in Dunfermline tomorrow (Saturday).
Following an extensive refit, AYT Foods will open at 24 Bridge Street offering a range of food and drink.
As previously reported in the Press, Temitope Ajayi-Salami – who hails from Nigeria and now lives in Dunfermline – decided the outlet was needed after becoming fed up of having to travel to Glasgow for her native food.
"Basically it will be dry food, frozen food and drink. Ingredients and spices and all of that," she said. ""We usually go all the way to Glasgow so I decided to have a shop here.
"I have got a lot of messages from people saying that it is long overdue. Fife has really expanded and now has a lot of more Africans here than there used to be."
As well as serving up customers from the shop, Temitope also plans to sell her wares online to cater for those further afield.
"It is not just going to be in-store," she added. "I am going to have an online store as well and will deliver beyond Fife."
