A man spat in a woman’s face in a “disgusting” incident at Dunfermline bus station.
Robert Hooper appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court by video-link from prison.
Hooper, 48, of Broomhead Drive, Dunfermline, previously admitted that on July 9 last year at the bus station in Queen Anne Street, he assaulted a woman by spitting on her face.
The court was told the bus station incident involved a female friend he had been drinking with and they had fallen out.
Sentence had been deferred for good behaviour but Hooper is now in custody for other matters.
This restricted the sentencing options for Sheriff Francis Gill who told Hooper: “This was disgusting behaviour."
He fined Hooper £400 with no time to pay and so he will serve 14 days in jail instead.
