A DUNFERMLINE solicitor is celebrating after winning a prestigious ‘Rising Star in Law’ accolade at this year’s Scottish Asian and Business Awards.
The awards, held at the Glasgow Marriot Hotel, recognised Kiran Bahia's dedication and excellence in the legal profession and her impact on the local Asian community.
Kiran, an NQ Solicitor in the Corporate Team at Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie (WJM), stood out among candidates as an exemplar in the legal field after sharing her journey to become a lawyer since childhood despite lacking a legal background.
She was delighted to receive the award.

"Winning the Rising Star in Law award is an incredible honour and I’m delighted! I am extremely grateful to the Scottish Asian and Business Awards for this award," she said.
"To be nominated was fantastic and now being awarded as the winner is just wonderful and came as a pleasant surprise.
“This recognition is a testament to the passion and determination that has helped to fuel my legal journey. I would like to say a huge thank you to WJM for its support along the way.”
The Awards showcase the strength of the Asian community, the impact they have on Scotland’s culture and economy, and their progression over the last year.
In addition to her professional achievements, Kiran volunteers with the Siri Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Dundee, providing hot meals, food packages, arranging collections of sleeping bags and essential items working alongside partner charities in Dundee to the homeless and to those living in poverty.
