A young boy from Inverkeithing has grown out and cut his hair to donate to a charity that provides wigs to children with cancer.
August Aitken (7) lives in Inverkeithing with his mum and sister. He told his dad just after his sixth birthday that he wanted to grow his hair out to donate to kids with cancer. Thirteen inches of August’s hair was cut off and donated to The Little Princess Trust.
David Aitken, August’s dad, said: “Being so young we were surprised when he came out with such a thoughtful act. Me and his mum feel unbelievably proud of what he has achieved. When he said he wanted to do it we fully supported him.

“He wanted to do it because it was a kind thing to do, and he wanted to help as much as he could.”
The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments or other health conditions. The charity has provided over 15,000 wigs to children and young people who are experiencing hair loss.
David added that August “was very happy and very proud of himself.”
