WHILE Hollywood gears up for the awards season you can find the magic of the movies closer to home in Cairneyhill.
The Sanctuary Community Cinema, based in the church at the east end of the village, is set to be box office as it will screen top quality entertainment AND save you money.
You can come in from the cold and watch the films for free - you don't have to pay for coffees, teas and biscuits either - and it's all in a warm, comfortable space.
A spokesperson explained: "So far we have screened 'Swimming with Men', 'Sometimes Always Never', 'The Greatest Showman', 'The Great Escaper' and in the coming weeks we will be screening 'The Miracle Club' with Maggie Smith and Kathy Bates, 'Fisherman’s Friends' and 'What We Did On Our Holiday'.

"All great films not to be missed – look out for the Facebook posts and posters at the church and around the village."
The Sanctuary Cinema follows on from the success of the games and film afternoons that began last year.
A similar rota - one week it will be games and a blether, the next it will be a movie - will run every Thursday until the end of March.
It's in conjunction with Fife Council's 'warm spaces' initiative and sponsored by their warm welcome fund.
The spokesperson added: "So, if you want to avoid heating your house for an afternoon, see a good film, come along for a chat, put The Sanctuary Cinema – Cairneyhill Church in your diary for each and every Thursday afternoon until the end of March.
"The good bit of course is that it is free, yes that’s right all these great films for free, not to mention the teas, coffees and biscuits!

"We are also keen to start a school kids film evening, films suitable for primary school age and / or secondary school age, ideally on a Thursday evening but we’re open to feedback and requests for whatever evening and requests for suitable films."
