A NEW club night is to open up in a Dunfermline venue.
The first Block Party, put on by DJ Colin Cook, will be hosted in the Fire Station Creative on Friday, February 9.
“It’s something fresh for our community and city!” says Colin, who got the idea when he visited Berlin, Naples and New York where similar events are happening all the time.
“We want to create an open-minded, happy, safe space where people can check out new music, enjoy older material and have a dance.”

Block Party promises to be a place where people can meet, share ideas and hit the floor. Expect to hear rare disco, house grooves and eclectic sounds.
“The Fire Station is an incredible venue, so we’ll bring a great sound system and visuals for the night,” he added.
“I’d like to feature touring live artists and collaborate with local musicians and visual artists, so please come forward if you like the concept and have some creative ideas.”
Career highlights for Colin include performing at Notting Hill Carnival and warming up for The Shamen.
He’s also played with big names such as Norman Jay MBE, Kerri Chandler, Dave Lee , Dennis Ferrer, Graeme Park, Terry Farley, Pete Heller and many more underground names from the USA, Japan and Europe.
Doors open at 8pm and tickets, costing £5, and can be bought on Eventbrite here or from the venue Cafe/Bar.
