Fire Station Creative is set to host a screening of the experimental feature film, Killing Time, by Spanish artist Ainize Sarasola.
The main screening, on Tuesday, February 20, will be preceded by a short film, Etsado Puro, by another Spanish artist and filmmaker Miriam Isasi.
The film centres around a group of people who apparently have nothing in common being trapped in a bar after a mysterious incident. Due to this incident, the real intentions of these characters are slowly revealed.
With plenty absurd humour, the film shows a portrait of a group trapped in a situation that will reveal their miseries, desires, and the dynamics of power.
Ainize said: “In Killing Time the characters are also completely changeable and disconcerting, hateful and endearing at the same time. And I mix different film genres: comedy, film noir and horror.”
Miriam Isasi, on her film Estado Puro, said: “This piece deals with distance and isolation by code encryption, control and the clandestine. Overlaying layers in code morse, bizarre poetics and analogies melancholic that are part of a human need to communicate, with or without correspondence.”
The films will begin at 7pm. Entry is free, and tickets can be booked on Eventbrite.
