It was a late night for Primary 5 pupils at Donibristle Primary School as the pupils had a sleepover in the school.
And the Dalgety Bay school's pupils made it a worthwhile night by raising £580 for charity.
The annual event, led by deputy head teacher Karen Hart, supported the children in the lead up to their school residential trips.
School staff planned fun events throughout the night, supported by Dalgety Bay Rangers, before it was time for a bedtime story and lights out.
Each year, the children are invited to nominate a chosen charity to raise funds for as part of the sleepover. This year’s nomination was Maggie’s Fife. Maggie’s is a charity which support patients and families with cancer. Their centre is based near Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
On the evening of the sleepover, Natalie Fairfoul, from Maggie’s, spoke with the children about the valuable work they do.
In total, £580 was raised, with this money enabling the charity to provide cancer support for up to 40 people to help them understand their diagnosis, treatment and life with cancer.
Karen Hart said: “The children and staff have had a brilliant night. Nights like these are the highlight of our year.
"Not only do we raise money for a super cause, the children are developing their skills being away from home. They were responsible for making their beds and packing up in the morning.
"A huge thank you to everyone who supported our evening.”
