THE worst performing railway station in West Fife has been revealed through a train time analysis website.
According to the latest figures published by ontimetrains.co.uk, Inverkeithing Railway station fares worst in the region after being ranked 1,844th of 2,626 stations in the UK.
The statistics see stations gauged by a performance score which is calculated through factors including service punctuality and cancellation frequency.
Over the last 12 weeks, 36 per cent of services at Inverkeithing were on time, 34 per cent were one to two minutes late, 12 per cent were three to four minutes late and eight per cent were five to nine minutes late.
Four per cent of services were over 10 minutes late while six per cent of trains serving the station were cancelled.
The second worst ranked West Fife halt was Aberdour station which was ranked 1,791th.
Here, 25 per cent of trains were on time, 43 per cent were one to two minutes late, 13 per cent were three to four minutes late and nine per cent were running five to nine minutes late.
There were four per cent of trains that were over 10 minutes late and six cent were cancelled.
Rosyth Railway Station was ranked 1,752th in the UK with 23 per cent of trains on time, 46 per cent just one to two minutes late, 17 per cent three to four minutes late and two per cent being over 10 minutes late.
A total of five per cent of services were cancelled.
Dalgety Bay was 1,740th with 33 per cent of services on time, 36 per cent being one to two minutes late, 13 per cent being three t four minutes late and nine per cent running five to nine minutes late.
Three per cent of services were over 10 minutes late and six per cent of trains were cancelled over the 12 week period.
North Queensferry was rated as the 1,625th best in the UK with 28 per cent of trains on time, 42 per cent under two minutes late, 14 per cent running three to four minutes late and eight per cent running five to nine minutes late.
Two per cent of trains were over 10 minute late with a cancellation rate of five per cent.
Both Dunfermline stations fared better in the last 12 weeks with Dunfermline Town ranked as 1,390th and Dunfermline Queen Margaret Station placed 1,275th.
At Dunfermline Town, 31 per cent of trains were on time, 42 per cent were a minute or two late, 13 per cent were three to four minutes late and seven per cent were five to nine minutes late.
Just two per cent of services were over 10 minutes late while five per cent were cancelled.
Along the track at Queen Margaret Station, 38 per cent of trains were on time, 36 per cent were one to two minutes late, 12 per cent were three to four minutes late, seven per cent were five to nine minutes late and two per cent were over 10 minutes late.
There were five per cent of train services which were cancelled.
