A Kelty man who runs an art gallery is offering a mobile framing service.
Ryan McPhee who won the Best Art Gallery in Fife in 2021 at the Scottish Business Awards, is now travelling to customers homes across Fife and Kinross to bring a new service to their homes.
Affordable Arts, based in Methil, was launched on April 5, 2021, and went on to bring home the Best Art Gallery in Fife prize that November.
Speaking of his win, Ryan commented: “I was really pleased, so much work went into the gallery in Covid and to be the best gallery in three, four, months was crazy.”

The mobile framing service was set up two weeks ago as a lot of Ryan’s customers are elderly and would have to get the bus to his gallery, which then made getting large pictures back to their homes difficult.
He added: “It was basically for their convenience, so they’re not having to come to me.”
Ryan has a framing studio at the back of his gallery, and he now comes to customers with samples of mounts and frames. He also offers a hanging service if the customer would like their picture hung up, and he will give advice on how to choose the perfect frame for your art.
So far, the service has been proving popular, and Ryan commented: “I get phone calls day by day.”
Speaking of his break into the art world, Ryan said: “So my dad is a picture framer and has been for over 35 years, and during Covid I found a niche in the market for affordable art, and it’s just took off from there.”
