Two youths have appeared in court accused of attacking a Raith Rovers fan after a match at East End Park.

The youths, aged 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to deny the charges they face.

It is alleged that on January 2 at a bus stop in Halbeath Road, Dunfermline, they assaulted a youth, aged 17, whilst acting with others.

The charge states they repeatedly punched and kicked him on the head and body, seized him and threw him to the ground, repeatedly punched and kicked him on the head and body when he was on the ground, then seized and kicked him as he was attempting to leave, all to his injury.

They also deny that at Dunfermline Queen Margaret train station, Whitefield Road, Halbeath Road, and elsewhere, whilst acting with others, they shouted, swore, acted aggressively and repeatedly made offensive and derogatory remarks to another 17-year-old youth.

A trial date was set for July 25.

Sheriff Susan Duff imposed a special bail condition banning the youths from attending any football match in Scotland between now and the trial.

Also facing the charges is 20-year-old Mackenzie King, of Hillview, Oakley. He was not present in court and a warrant was granted.
