A BLAIRADAM dog and owner have won the Gundog group title at Crufts.
David Alcorn and his Weimaraner, Hendricks, wowed the judges at the prestigious international dog show on Friday, March 8, qualifying for one of just seven places in the Best in Show final.
They were presented with their trophy in the Resorts World Arena at the NEC Birmingham by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Rt Hon Steve Barclay MP.
Hendricks, aged four, is co-owned by David and Gavin Ingram.
A delighted David said: “It’s a huge field of competition and Hendricks is a relatively young dog so I’m not sure when this will sink in.
“He’s a great dog to live with and very chilled out. He loves showing and loves the big event – he’s always been the consummate show dog.”
Helen Kerfoot, Crufts show manager, added: “Many congratulations to Hendricks and David on winning the Gundog group title and earning a place in the Best in Show final at Crufts 2024.
“Crufts celebrates happy, healthy dogs, and the special relationship between dogs and their owners. This was clear to see, as David and Hendricks demonstrated a wonderful bond in the ring.”
