A NUMBER of Dunfermline-based businesses have shown their support of the Fife gift card initiative.
Originally branded as the Scotland Loves Local gift card, but with a new Fife design, the card allows people to shop at a number of independent businesses in the city.
Fife has a wide range of independent businesses, from hair and beauty salons to family-owned bars and restaurants to unique gift shops, as well as larger shopping centres. These businesses have welcomed the initiative by Fife Council to provide business support that makes ‘buying local’ easier.
Louise Hutchison, of Abbot House, said: "It's good see the Fife Gift Card being promoted to give local businesses a boost as all of the money spent by the public will go back into supporting our local businesses."
The gift card is designed to keep people shopping locally and protect local jobs.
Bryan Beveridge. of Bryan Beveridge Quality Butchers. added: "Making Fife the focus for this gift card is exactly what we need, and I hope people in Fife support the businesses who accept the card. I'm pleased to see more Dunfermline businesses coming on board."
Recent new recruits to the programme from across the city centre include:
- Spex in the City, Bridge Street
- Premier Frames, Bruce Street
- Lime Salon, Bridge Street
- The Seven Kings, Bridge Street
- Little Shop of Heroes, Maygate
