A RETROSPECTIVE application has been submitted for permission to turn a poultry shed near Steelend into three vehicle repair workshops.
The premises at Lynn Farm have been used for this purpose since March 2022 but steps to gain consent from Fife Council have only just begun.
Officers issued an enforcement notice in July last year and followed this up with a telephone call and email, which has resulted in the application for a change of use.
A statement on behalf of landowner James Cousar explained: "The owner of the poultry shed was unaware that he was required to apply for planning permission as the tenants leases stated that the tenants were responsible for this."

The application said that the shed was originally used for rearing poultry but in March 2022 it was rewired and divided into three separate areas and let out to three separate tenants.
It has a water supply and septic tank but no toilet or washing facilities, although it said these could be installed.
It proposes 10 parking spaces on the site although Mr Cousar has specified that the vehicles should be stored inside.
