THE old Royal Bank building in Kelty has been transformed into a Jyoti Yoga and Wellness Centre.
A Kelty-based yoga instructor, Morag Wilson, has rented the building and turned it into a tranquil space for people to connect their bodies and minds through yoga.
Morag, who set up the centre with fellow Jyoti Yoga instructors Sonia Kavanagh and Will Callan, said: "We finally got the big go-ahead at the beginning of this year that we were able to get everything ironed out so we went right into it and doing it up and now its a beautiful centre and its doing well."
The centre had an opening event last month, and had friends, family, fellow yoga lovers and even Provost Jim Leishman in attendance.
And since it's opening there's been a steady stream of people through the doors.
Morag continued: "The opening was just amazing, we had Jim Leishman, who I've known for many years. I didn’t want Jim as a Provost, I wanted it to be more for the Mary Leishman Foundation because I knew Mary well.
"Jim came up, without his mayor hat on, just as Jim and it was lovely. We had a really nice opening day.
"Through that weekend we had about 150 people come through the doors in two days!"
Going forward, Morag and her team have big plans for the Jyoti Centre for Wellbeing and Yoga, with rooms being rented out for a whole manner of wellness classes such as meditation and drumming.
She added: "It’s not just about yoga, it’s about wellbeing and it's about bringing wellbeing into Kelty, that was our main aim."
