UNEMPLOYMENT dropped by eight per cent across Fife last month, according to the latest DWP figures.
The number of people claiming Universal Credits in the Kingdom is now 7,655, which is 680 less than the same time last year.
Welcoming the results, DWP External Relations Leader for Fife, Angela Penman, said work continues to get more people back into work.
“Jobcentre work coaches play an increasingly important role by supporting businesses fill their vacancies, while helping more people get ready to enter the jobs market," she explained.
"Providing every jobseeker with the support that suits their individual needs is key to this. Upcoming courses to support with numeracy, digital exclusion and interview skills are scheduled across Fife.

“Our continuing focus is to accelerate our customers into work, and we have seen an increase of this in the over 50 age group. We have delivered information sessions in every Jobcentre across Fife, supporting with access training courses and coaching provision.
“Examples of local activity are, working with SKY to promote Customer Service Apprenticeships. They delivered Group Information Sessions (GIS) to 16 customers of all age groups at Dunfermline Jobcentre last week.
"The prospective candidates were then supported by our Employer Advisers to make job applications. Interview preparation sessions will follow, supported by DWP work coaches.
"A further information session is planned for May 1, where we will extend this opportunity to more customers. Anyone interested should speak to their work coach."
Stagecoach East Scotland is another local employee set to hold information sessions in Dunfermline Jobcentre.
"They are recruiting for trainee bus drivers, and will cover the application process, training given, and opportunities for progression with the company," she added.
“Our message is that work coaches are there to help people to make a positive difference to their lives."
