The committee behind Inverkeithing Children’s Gala has announced that this year's event will be the last.
The volunteers who have kept it going said a number of factors were behind the decision.
Treasurer Kirsty Shepherd explained: “It’s always the same every year, we don’t get the support of the Inverkeithing parents.
"It’s just been a really rubbish year for fundraising and all the rest of it.
“Without the support of the parents and the primary school, you’re just not going to get it on.”
The gala costs between £14,000 and £15,000 to hold. A GoFundMe page has been set up with a target goal of £1,500. It has currently raised £1,145.

She added: “It’s disheartening when you don’t get the support of the parents.
“When we do have fundraisers it’s always the same people that come.”
The committee did hold a race night at the start of April, which brought in £1,823.
“We just have not got the support or the money to continue.
“We just can’t continue on.”
This year's gala will be held on Saturday, June 22.
