A Dunfermline man staggered towards police officers after his car had hit a wall.
Drink-driver Jason Sharpe, 38, of Fernie Place, was more than three times over the limit.
At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, he admitted that on February 28 at Coal Road, he drove with excess alcohol.
His reading was 77 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.
Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said that at around 10pm police were called to the scene by a member of the public.
When they arrived, Sharpe walked towards them “staggering and unbalanced”. He said he had been driving the car and had collided with a wall.
Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said his client was apologetic and has now stopped drinking.
Sheriff Susan Duff imposed a 12-month ban and a £320 fine.
