THERE are plans to improve the overspill car parking area at Pitreavie playing fields in Dunfermline.
A retrospective application has been tabled with Fife Council as unauthorised work began on site in January 2023.
This led to a complaint from a member of the public and a visit from the local authority's enforcement officer, who said planning permission was required.

Karen Masterson, of Pitreavie Sport & Soccer Centre, has now submitted an application.
Her planning agent, Derek McCafferty, explained: "The client was unaware the groundwork carried out to the existing grassed overspill car park required planning permission, repairing existing hardcore and tar areas that have been there for a number of years."
The popularity of Pitreavie as a sporting venue - it has an athletics stadium and is the home of the Soccer Sevens and Bayside FC, among others - has contributed to parking problems over the years.
The overspill car park, to the east of the pavilion and nursery, was installed to try and alleviate some of those issues.
It currently has 85 spaces.
On the application form, Mr McCafferty added: "At the existing grassed area used for the overspill parking area, we propose to prepare some hardcore material and groundwork to prevent damage to the grassed area and allow further parking on the site."
The plans include a new tarmac access to the overspill car park, drainage details, stones and a 'geotextile fabric' layer.
