Dunfermline Athletic goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet who was stretchered off during last night's Championship match at Ayr United is back home recuperating after being discharged from hospital.
Medical staff rushed to his aid, with the game held up for around 10 minutes as he was given attention on the pitch. He was then stretchered off and taken to a waiting ambulance.
Pars boss James McPake, speaking after the match, reported that Deniz had felt dizzy, describing the incident as "pretty scary". He added that Deniz had been a bit more alert in the back of the ambulance where he was monitored.
Deniz was then taken to hospital but thankfully was sufficiently recovered to be allowed home to recuperate.
Dunfermline Athletic posted an update on Deniz's condition this morning. They praised the speedy response of the medical teams from both the Pars and Ayr United, and the paramedics who were also involved in treating Deniz.
The club also thanked all supporters for their well wishes.
