Dunfermline Athletic goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet, who was stretchered off near the end of Friday's match at Ayr United and taken to hospital, has thanked the medical teams who came to his aid.
And he is also grateful for the many messages of support he has received, with followers of Ayr United - and several other clubs - joining Pars fans in wishing him well.
Deniz collapsed to his knees when taking a goal kick and received treatment on the pitch for around 10 minutes before being stretchered from the pitch at Somerset Park.
He was assessed and monitored in the back of an ambulance at the ground before being taken to hospital for further checks. He was released from hospital later on Friday night to continue his recuperation at home.
This afternoon (Sunday, May 5), Deniz posted a message on social media thanking well-wishers and medical teams following Friday's incident, which manager James McPake described as "pretty scary".
Thank you to everyone for your messages and well wishes. A big thank you to our physios Craig and Alan, as well as the @AyrUnitedFC medical team who were brilliant. Also would like to thank referee Willie Collum who handled the situation excellently. Thank you all 🙌🙌 https://t.co/x8jiFpr2u8
