ROSYTH Gala day will see the town host its largest ever skatepark jam.
The event, which has been organised by the Rosyth-based charity Future Youth, will take place on Saturday, May 25, and will include skateboarding, scootering and BMX competitions.
Free BMX lessons will be provided by the Scottish BMX School.
Organisers have teamed up with Kwik Fit, and the Glenrothes Recording Studio S9Fifty to bring a live music stage to the event, where a variety of solo artists, bands, and DJ’s will perform throughout the day.
Future Youth founder Coco Ross shared his excitement leading up to the jam.
He said: “The event has come on leaps and bounds since the first one, and we’ve really taken it to the next level this year."

Coco created the charity in 2021, with the aim of providing opportunities for local children.
“I could just see that young people were getting a bit of a bad rap in the local area because they had nothing to do," he added. "There were lots of reports of vandalism and destructive behaviour. Instead of vilifying them, I like to think what can we do to change the trend? The organisation was born out of that desire.”
Local BMX rider and Future Youth Trustee Erin Finnigan has played an active role in organising the event.
She said: “It provides the kids with a creative outlet which they maybe didn’t have before. When I was wee, going to the skatepark was a wee bit scary and a bit intimidating. Especially being a girl, because there wasn’t many of us there. It’s really inclusive though.
"You don’t get judged at the skatepark for how much money you have, and it’s not a hobby where you need to be loaded to take part.”
Another new addition to this year’s jam is that the organisation Youth First will be attending with a STEM activities stall, which will provide educational games and entertainment.
