A Dunfermline man who pushed his partner down stairs and kicked her, then failed to complete his sentence of unpaid work.

As a result, Paul Wilks, 29, of Leishman Drive, appeared back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He previously admitted that on 28th and 29th April last year at his home he assaulted his partner by pulling her by the hair, tightened a jacket around her neck, pushed her down the stairs and kicked her on the head, all to her injury.

Depute fiscal Andrew Brown said police arrived to find the woman had sustained a bump to the head.

Defence solicitor Shona Westwood said: “He’s now very regretful for the way he behaved.”

She added her client was asking for “a final opportunity” to do a community sentence.

Sheriff Mark O’Hanlon imposed a new community payback order with 80 hours of unpaid work. A non-harassment order was previously imposed.
