HUNDREDS of bikers rode through West Fife to mark the passing of “lovely lad” Gareth Hempseed.
As reported by the Press, the 20-year-old from Dunfermline was killed in a car accident in Linlithgow on Monday April 29.
To pay tribute to the keen motorcyclist, hundreds of bikers answered his family’s call to take part in Gareth's Final Ride for his funeral yesterday (Thursday).
It started in Ballingry and proceeded through Crosshill, Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath and Crossgates before ending at Dunfermline Crematorium.
Friends and family were blown away by the support, with mum Suzanne Kinloch hailing the turnout.
Speaking to the Press, she said: “From the convoy to the service to the wake, it was outstanding.
“The convoy was organised really well and I cannot thank the bike community enough, my son got the send off he deserved and what made it was that Gareth’s bike was with him all the way.
“I just want to thank everyone for giving the send off Gareth deserved."
Her son was a member of the Hub 71 bikers club and Suzanne added: “I want to thank all of the convoy blockers – they were amazing and everyone that turned up at the crematorium, from the bottom of my heart thank you.
“Gareth would be proud of you guys.
“And thank you to Brandon for fixing up his bike and his last ride.”
Gareth’s own bike was given a place in the procession, a touching note hailed by Suzanne.
Friends and family lined the streets along the route, culminating in the funeral service at Dunfermline Crematorium.
Photos and videos were also posted to pay tribute on a public Facebook page titled 'Gareth’s Final Ride (Memorial Page)'.
