LINGER in Limekilns and there's every chance you will spot some familiar faces.

The village's Scarecrow Festival takes place this weekend and over 30 figures are expected to be put on display by local residents.

Organiser Peter Wilson said the event will help raise money for the renewal of the local playpark.

"With entries such as Willie Wonka, Pitliver Hillbillies, Coco the Cyclist and a Bit Of Disney, there will be a lot to see," he said.

"It is the ideal trip out for families, courting couples, dog walkers, cyclists or just going for a run in the car."

The first Limekilns Scarecrow Festival took place in 2021 and saw a range of characters including Postman Pat, Boris Johnson, Nicola Sturgeon and Harry Potter.

Residents in the village – as well as in Pattiesmuir, Charlestown, Crombie and Pitliver – displayed a total of 47 entries around the area.
