AN INVERKEITHING man has been fined for assaulting a bouncer at a Dunfermline nightclub.
Martin Rennie, 30, of Cochrane Avenue, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court over an incident at Lourenzo’s.
A warrant had been issued after Rennie failed to appear at a previous hearing.
He admitted that on November 21, 2021 at St Margaret Street, Dunfermline, he assaulted a doorman by punching him to the head and repeatedly attempting to punch him.
Depute fiscal Laura McManus said two door stewards had intervened when trouble broke out in the venue.
At that point, Rennie started throwing punches at one of the bouncers.
He was restrained and held until police arrived at the scene.
Defence solicitor Amy Harley said: “He was at a family party and a lot of alcohol had been consumed.
“He recalls there was some sort of argument but doesn’t have a great recollection.”
Sheriff Craig McSherry fined Rennie £420.
