MOTORISTS are being warned to gear up for seven weeks of roadworks in West Fife.

Fife Council have confirmed resurfacing of the A907 from Comrie to west of Blairhall will begin on Monday, June 17.

The work is part of a £390,000 investment into improving the road network.

Councillor Altany Craik, the transportation spokesperson for the council, said: “We maintain over 2,400km of roads in Fife and we’re spending millions each year repairing and improving them.

“Our road network is vital to support economic development, inward investment, tourism, leisure and travel to work. Almost everyone in Fife uses our roads each day, which is why this type of maintenance work is essential.”

While the work is being carried out, a convoy system will be in operation during working hours and overnight, temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Access will be maintained for emergency services, businesses and residents and the footpath beside the works will remain open.

Cllr Craik added: “We apologise for any inconvenience and delay caused by these essential works, and we’ll try to keep any disturbance to a minimum. Your patience and co-operation during this time is appreciated.”
