SUMMER and beer gardens go hand in hand - and the Haberdashery Bistro is home to one of the best in Dunfermline.

Chloe Wright, who runs the pub with her partner Kris Boniface, was drawn to the pub because of the spectacular outdoor space and she plans to make the most of it this year.

She told the Press: "So far it's been really good, we have had a couple of nice weekends already this year and when the sun comes out it fills up really quickly. I think people are happy that its open again.

"We’ve had quite a few people come in to stop for one and then eight hours later they’re still here so that must be a good sign that people are enjoying it"

"It gets the sun on it, pretty much all day, until about 8 o'clock. It’s quite nice and quiet, so it feels secluded and personal and I think people enjoy that. It doesn’t feel like it’s in the city centre, it feels away from all that which is nice as well and it does get really warm.

"The customers that we’ve had so far have been really great, really respectful of the space and they’ve really enjoyed it."

This summer they're focusing on holding beer garden BBQ's, where customers can tuck into a delicious and affordable barbeque spread.

She continued: "That went down really well so the plan is, every Saturday that the weather is nice, we will do a barbeque, possibly on a Sunday as well. Kris has got a lot of ideas for different themed BBQs that he wants to do."

Kris, who is also the chef at the Haberdashery, has big plans to bring a new spin on each barbeque, including cooking up fresh fish, doing different side options or putting a Mediterranean spin on the food.

Chloe said: "It won’t always just be burgers and hot dogs!"

And the grand ideas don't stop there, the couple want to be able to make the most of the gorgeous space all year long.

She added: "We put a lot of investment into it and that’s a risk in Scotland with the weather.

"We’re already looking at December time, what we're going to do, we want to do a Santa’s Grotto out there and when it gets to next Spring we want to do an Easter egg hunt.

"Just so it can be more versatile, we don’t want to just use it for the summer and then not get to use it again because it’s a great space."
