A 36-year-old man appeared in court today following an attempted robbery at a shop in Dunfermline.

At 2.15pm yesterday police were called to an incident at the Nisa shop and post office in Abbey View.

Officers attended and a man was arrested and charged.

Robert Danskin appeared in private at Dunfermline Sheriff Court this afternoon.

Danskin, from Dunfermline, faces charges of assault and attempted robbery.

He also faces a charge under the firearms act.

Danskin was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

His next appearance in court will be within the next eight days.

Police have said no-one required medical treatment following the incident and a BB gun was recovered.
