A WOMAN has told the Press about how difficult it is to get an appointment at a West Fife surgery.
The source, who wanted to remain anonymous, said she has been trying to speak to a doctor at Primrose Lane Medical Centre in Rosyth for a week.
She commented: “I’ve been trying for a week. You phone up at 8 o’clock and all I get is bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep.
“That went on until half past 8 and then I had to go in a queue, I was 27th. So, I had to wait and get to the front of the queue, and then all the appointments were gone, that was typical every day.”
The woman, a pensioner, is trying to get an appointment in order to discuss several health issues.

She said: “There’s more than one thing I needed to see him about. I’ve got a bad leg, I had a hip operation and I didn’t have a good recovery, so that’s ongoing.
"My toe, I was wanting to know if it was arthritis in my toe because when I get the arthritis and the toe plays up I can’t walk, and I wondered if it was gout or arthritis, that was the question I wanted to ask.
“And my memory is not good, I wanted to see about that as it's really bad and I wanted to get it checked out.”
However, she said she was told to call back again on Monday. She said there was no offer of a phone consultation either.
The woman added: “You can’t get an appointment for love nor money, you can’t even get to speak to the doctor. You’re on the phone all morning and you get nowhere.
“I’ve got to do something about this, it’s driving me nuts.”
The Press has contacted the surgery for comment.
