THE weather could not dampen spirits as this year’s Kincardine Children’s Gala went ahead at Burnside Park.
There was a great turnout for the annual parade and gala as Saturday, June 15, rounded off a week of events in the village.
Led by 1st Tulliallan Boys’ Brigade Band, the parade left Show Green just after midday, followed by the crowning of the royal party, including Queen Ellie, in the park.
Tulliallan Pipes and Drums also played for the crowd and the parade saw several floats including for the royal party, by Dance City, the Boy’s Brigade and even one by village fish and chip shop Ilario’s.
The event largely stayed dry with just a few showers which could not interrupt the fun on the day.
At the park, there were displays put on by Dance City and Alloa Gymnastics Club while there was also live wrestling on the stage.
Kincardine singer Anna McDermid also showcased her talents and young people enjoyed seeing some live magic being performed as well.
The park also saw a range of stalls, inflatables and rides in what was a fun family day out.
John Empson, vice chair of Kincardine Children's Gala, said: “It was a good family day, loads of kids.
“We had quadbikes, all our inflatable bouncy castles, laser tag, we had Segways – loads going on.”
Each year, the gala is organised by a small committee with John saying the team was in desperate need of more members.

He added: “It was great to see the village turning out for such an event and despite the heavy rain on the Friday night it all went well.
“I want to thank the villagers and especially committee members and our helpers on the day because without them an event this size could not go ahead.
“The support from local businesses is much appreciated as well.”
