A new travel counsellor has set up business in Dunfermline to help people book their dream holidays.

Grace Brammer, 28, launched her own firm four months ago.

Originally from England, she headed north to study heritage and tourism at Stirling University, before settling in Dunfermline.

She has five years of hands-on experience within the travel industry and decided to start her own business after being made redundant in 2020.

“I really wanted to become a travel counsellor because I had worked in travel for so long, from adventure travel to luxury travel.

But what exactly is a travel counsellor?

Grace is there to support a person with every stage of holiday planning, as well as support and guidance during and after the trip.

They can help you turn your travel dreams into a reality and help with booking everything; from accommodation and flights, to helping you apply for the required visas.

“I can book absolutely everything for them including documentation for actually travelling where they want to go.” Grace added.

Appointments usually begin with a consultation where she will discuss the client's budget, where they would like to go, and from there she can create travel plans which the customer can alter as much as they like.

Once they're happy, they can then make a booking.

Grace also works within Travel Counsellors, which is a group of over 1,200 travel advisors who can all lean on each other for support and advice.

Speaking of her job, she said: “I have always been motivated to have my own business, growing up my parents had their own business. I was lucky enough to always come home to my parents after school and in the summer.
