A STUDENT was caught drink-driving on the road right outside Dunfermline police station.

Tegan Robertson, 23, of Mitchell Walk, Rosyth, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on May 18 at the Sinclair Gardens roundabout, Dunfermline, she drove a car having consumed excess alcohol.

Her reading was 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.

Depute fiscal Lauren Pennycook said at 12.45am Robertson was stopped by a patrol car near Dunfermline police station and failed a breath test.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said his client, a university student, had made “a foolish mistake”.

She had been drinking with her boyfriend and then decided to drive back to her parents’ address.

Sheriff Allan Findlay fined Robertson £420 and banned her from driving for a year.
