A DALGETY BAY woman has abseiled off the Forth Bridge four years after she was supposed to!

As previously reported in the Press, Lydia Lawson was supposed to climb down the iconic landmark in 2020 to mark her 60th birthday.

Unfortunately, this was cancelled due to the pandemic.

On Sunday, Lydia went to new heights to raise funds for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.

Hundreds of other people from across the country also took part to raise funds for the charity and other partner organisations.

Lydia said: “I’m raising money for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland in memory of both my parents, Jim and Bunty Lawson. I’ve been raising money for CHSS since my dad died in 2002.

“My dad suffered from heart and chest problems and my mum had died six years previously as the result of a stroke.

“It was important to me that it is a Scottish charity and the money raised in Scotland stays in Scotland with CHSS.

“It was fantastic to take part in the Forth Bridge abseil in memory of my mum and dad.”
