PLANS have been submitted to Fife Council to build five holiday homes in a field in Balmule, north of Townhill.

Mr Patrick Slattery from Fraserburgh, is seeking permission to build the static caravans on an area of grasslands south of the Balmule Valley Fishery.

Existing holiday homes have already been built near the fishery, eight were built in the area last year bringing the number of wooden huts at the site up to 12.

In a supporting statement submitted to the council, the applicant said the holiday homes would be "low-key" and constructed on "an existing roads infrastructure and will be well located for services connections".

In order to preserve the landscape of the area, existing trees will be retained and additional appropriate local species will be planted to support this.
