MOTORISTS who have been avoiding the major roadworks at Bothwell Gardens and using Linburn Road have discovered it's not saving much time.

There have been long queues of traffic during the week and today (Saturday) Fife Council began four days of carriageway patching.

A potholed area near to the pedestrian crossing outside St Columba's High School has been coned off, there are temporary traffic lights in play and only one side of the road open to traffic.

The aim is to make it a much smoother surface and the project is due to be completed on Tuesday.
