MORE traffic disruption is looming in Dunfermline with another road closure at the site of the Bothwell Gardens roundabout works.

Temporary four-way traffic lights have led to long queues and frustration for motorists and the £650,000 project isn't due to finish until October.

Now Fife Council have warned that Woodmill Street – from the Bothwell Gardens roundabout to Millhill Street – will shut for a fortnight.

The road closure order, to allow for signalisation works to be carried out safely, will be in place from July 8 until July 21.

The alternative route for through traffic will be via St. Leonards Street and Hospital Hill, Aberdour Road, Blacklaw Road, Woodmill Road and Woodmill Terrace.

Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained.

Work at Bothwell Gardens started earlier this month and is expected to continue for 16 weeks.

The project will see traffic lights installed on the roundabout, the upgrade of lights at the Nethertown Broad Street and Moodie Street and the resurfacing of approach roads.
