The Rotary Club of West Fife dispatched 2,000 used spectacles to Africa this week.
The collection for the first dispatch of spectacles started two months ago.
The glasses are being sent to the SpecSort project in York.
Collection points include Crossford Pharmacy and Dunfermline opticians SpecSavers, 20/20 Vision, Spex in the City, and Ferrier and McKinnon.
Douglas Scott, club member, said: “This is a fantastic effort from our local community.
“These refurbished spectacles have embarked on a transformative voyage to Africa, where they become invaluable aids to those in need.
“Through the efforts of dedicated volunteers from the UK, diagnostic clinics are set up and the glasses are distributed to communities across various African nations.
“This is just a start and we look forward to continued success with this project.
“So, if you find yourself with redundant or unwanted spectacles, don't hesitate. Simply drop them off at any of our collection points, and let Rotary take care of the rest.”
